Feral cats have an outsized impact on their environment because they’re generally apex predators. If domesticated, however, that doesn’t happen. Plus, more TNR programs partially solves that problem as well.

Obviously, I know I’m being ambitious, but domesticated cats live, on average, 4-5x longer than feral cats as well!

They live 10x longer. Feral cat lifespan is under 2 years usually. My cat is 19.

Well, I guess we have to define feral. Independently, yes, but in colonies, they can live much longer. Then there's people who let cats outside, which contribute to ecological problems but still have extended lives.

19 is great! My now-deceased cat, Osiris, almost made it to 22.

That sounds hopeful! Zorro the cat is 13 and I hope for at least ten more years 😻 greetings from a non-childless ( or whatever the opposite is to childless) cat lady 😁😁
