This is great. While you’re right that in the past he’s been good about telling people to go to the vet I’m alarmed by how irresponsible and accepted his advice on cat foods is.

Hi Derek, great article! I somewhat knew of Jackson's flower essences products but tended to ignore that aspect of his "vibe" as I found his tips on "My Cat from Hell" to be useful when training my rambunctious Siamese. I think that the anti-vaccine sentiment definitely extends to people's pets which I am sure is making a lot of money for "holistic"/conspiritualist vets (this would be a great topic to address on the Pod, btw)! When my partner and I were looking to get a Ragdoll kitten, we came across this breeder near where we live that has some interesting takes on vaccinating her kittens: https://ranchinragzragdolls.com/what-we-feed/

She also charges $2500+ (CAD) for a kitten...that would, unvaccinated, be more likely to be immunocomprimised...yikes!

I don't really understand what this remedy is supposed to do. However, I do know from my own experience receiving vaccines that I tend to feel like absolute crap for many days afterwards. Perhaps pets do too? Maybe this helps alleviate pain or illness after getting vaccinated? It isn't really clear. I will say that I have used Bach's Rescue Remedy many times on my cats and it does work. It's like a mild tranquilizer. Also, my vet passed on some really disturbing information at my last visit for my cat. He got his rabies shot. Normally, this is an every-three-years thing, but now they want to do it every year because of the risk of cancer in the larger doses. I don't know if they're just trying to make more money off me with an annual shot, or if there is something to this. Injection site sarcoma is a known risk in felines. www.avma.org/resources-tools/pet-owners/petcare/vaccines-and-sarcomas-concern-cat-owners

Thanks for sharing.

I've heard concerns over increased vaccination schedules, and whether or not it really matters to indoor-only cats. I think that's a fair debate to have. We certainly weigh out our options whenever we visit the vet due to costs.

Homeopathic remedies can't alleviate anything because there's no active ingredient.

Thanks for sharing the injection link. I know there are concerns, but for Hofve to link cancer to injections, then say "inject away from meridian lines," and then offer a homeopathic remedy is straight grifting and pseudoscience. As with my conspiritualists we cover, she starts from a place with some truth and then turns it into propaganda.

I took the Rescue Remedy myself to see what it would do. There's definitely something active in there! However, I get what you're saying about the Hofve grift. It's so frustrating because it's hard to know who to trust because of that grain of truth present in all these grifts. By the way, I just started reading Conspirituality. Really excellent so far and wonderful information.

Thanks!

To be fair, Rescue Remedy is 30c, which is the last proving in homeopathy before the active ingredient is completely dissolved. I've never been against tinctures that people enjoy, if they like the smell, or they feel calm with it, etc. I have candles burning in my office regularly with different oils that I enjoy. It's when health claims, especially around vaccines, are made that I get pretty perturbed...
