My heart aches for you & your family. The words reopened old scars from many pets I have lost over the years & the tears flowed. I lost my father & 4 cats 2018-2021. A lot of loss in 3 years. Each cat was unique with their own personality complete with quirks. The sadness for every single loss is always there but fortunately so are the memories. Time really doesn't heal. It only teaches us how to better cope with our losses. Be grateful for the memories & savor each moment that will someday be a precious memory.
Our dog does the exact same thing…probably could use him as a sundial!
That is one lucky and well-loved cat. The pharaohs adored their cats too.
